Niza, Francia.- Al menos 17 personas murieron a causa de las graves inundaciones provocadas por las fuertes lluvias y vientos huracanados que azotan el sur de Francia, informan las autoridades.
Adem\u00e1s, a\u00fan hay tres desaparecidos, inform\u00f3 el presidente del pa\u00eds, Fran\u00e7ois Hollande. \u00c9ste se desplaz\u00f3 junto al ministro del Interior, Bernard Cazeneuve, a la regi\u00f3n m\u00e1s afectada, donde alert\u00f3 de que se esperan m\u00e1s lluvias. En muchas carreteras, la situaci\u00f3n sigue siendo muy peligrosa, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 el mandatario, que pidi\u00f3 precauci\u00f3n y prudencia.
Al igual que hiciera antes el primer ministro, Manuel Valls, Hollande tambi\u00e9n asegur\u00f3 que los afectados recibir\u00edan ayuda inmediata. Seg\u00fan la prefectura de Alpes-Maritimes, ya han sido desplegados 500 efectivos.
Entre los fallecidos, siete perdieron la vida en la localidad de Mandelieu-la Napoule, en la Costa Azul, mientras trataban de poner a salvo sus autom\u00f3viles. Otras tres personas fueron halladas muertas en un coche en Vallauris-Golfe-Juan, localidad situada entre Cannes y Antibes. Al parecer hab\u00edan intentado cruzar un t\u00fanel inundado.
Previamente murieron ahogadas tres personas en un geri\u00e1trico en Biot y tres personas m\u00e1s fallecieron en Cannes. Una de ellas era una mujer que muri\u00f3 en un estacionamiento. Adem\u00e1s, otra de las v\u00edctimas perdi\u00f3 la vida en un camping de Antibes. Del resto no se sabe exactamente en qu\u00e9 circunstancias perecieron. (AGENCIAS)
